Srushti began to prepare herself for her UPSC exam in her third year as an engineering student. In her final year of engineering, Srushti Deshmukh wondered if she'd like working in the field of engineering. Later, she realized her dream was civil services and decided to pursue the field. Her parents urged her to pursue civil work and to find an employment that would benefit the general public. Her motivation never waned, and remained focused solely in her pursuit of becoming an IAS. It takes more effort to get UPSC. She was preparing for UPSC subject areas while she was studying her engineering. Each day she set aside time to work on her preparation for the test. In just one and a half months she studied for engineering tests, but stayed clear of all contact with people. The reason she believes in focus and concentration are essential for a successful test to become a government official. She was determined to pass the exam in the first try and put in a lot of effort. Everyday, she went through the news to stay up with current events.
